Interview With a Young Mother

-Your relationship with doctors?

The doctors were pretty nice, Once I went into labor they were supportive and helped along the way it was nice I couldn’t have had a better doctor.

-How the doctors talked to you?

For the most part they talked to me calmly besides the occasional doctor jargin, they explained everything to me and the father.

-The relationship between you and the father?

During the pregnancy I was very emotional and sometimes he couldn’t handle it and didn’t know what to do. It put a real strain on our relationship at times.

-How you talked to him before the baby was born?

I was angry at him most of the time and I bit my tongue a lot if I wanted to talk to him it was me wanting to cuss him out. I was mean to him because that’s cause he didn’t understand the hormones I was going through.

-How you talked to him when the baby was born?

Now that are baby boy is here we talk like normal we discuss more about the baby then our own selves because he’s whats important. But we both are more mature and responsible now.

-How you talked to the baby in the wound?

I would always tell the baby my problems and it felt like we had our own language if I said something he liked he would kick and it was just great. I loved it so much I didn’t read a lot to him though but we listened to a lot of slow music. 

-How you talked to the baby now?

Now I just talked to him happily because I want him to feel like he’s in a happy atmosphere.

He is just now starting to show facial expressions its so cute. He makes noises back to you if your loud enough  

-How you communicate with other mothers?

Other mothers know exactly what I’m going through so we talk about the late sleepless nights the ups and downs of motherhood.

-
How family talked to you?

Since I’m young they were happy but a lil upset saying that I wasn’t ready at some points looking down they talked to me as if I was naïve to what was going on It really irritated me so I stayed away a lot from negativity.

-How strangers talked to you before the baby?

They always wanted to know when I was due what the sex of the baby and seem more excited than me especially if they were expecting too.

-How they talk to you with the baby?

They always say how cute he is and how he looks like his dad. They always want to hold him or touch him I’m a little defensive about that because you don’t know where everyone’s hands been so sometimes I just smile.
